Dog Blog Names

I’m going to move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org some time this month. Have any of you did this before? How was the process? I’ve heard it’s not that bad and a lot better as far as being in more control and being able to customize things. I’ve been racking my brain for weeks trying to think of a different blog name. I want to switch the name from King Simba to something that is not just him, but also apart of me. Also a search on King Simba brings up a lot of Lion King stuff since that’s where I got his name from anyway. My blog is about Simba, mini schnauzers, dog tips, dog fashion, dog fun, etc, but I may decide to write about my family and I or something else here and there as well.

I’ve asked a couple of people their opinions on the names I have came up with and decided to ask YOU as my reader what your opinion is. The word FUR seems to be sticking out in my head a lot. I guess it’s because I love my dog’s furriness…it just makes him look so cute and cuddly. The names that were sticking out to me the most were “Best Furiend” and “Furtunate Find”. “Best Furiend” is pretty much self-explanatory, but “Furtunate Find” may not be. I came up with the name Furtunate Find because I was fortunate to find Simba and I will blog about dog things(fashion, food, etc) that I find/review as well as dog info(tips, health, etc). Some people suggested that a reader should be able to SEE what my blog is about and Furtunate Find may not be as effective and maybe my blog name should include a keyword like “pet”, “dog”, “pooch”, etc. I kind of agree, but I want my blog name to be fun…not something boring. Maybe something like “So Adogable” (like so adorable) could work?

Here are other names I thought of, but don’t like as much as the ones mentioned above:

Come Wag Along
Waggy Times
Prized Pooch

What a cute doggie Cupcake is! She’s wearing a heart and ruffle dog sundress.

Cupcake is a Jack Russell mix. She’s 5 years old and weighs 22 pounds. When her mom first got her, she ripped and chewed anything that was put on her, but since then, she gradually learned that clothes are good, because when she gets dressed up, something fun is going to happen (they’re going out, or getting company, or she’s going to do work as a therapy dog). She mostly wears dresses, and she has a couple of tutus. Her mom buys a lot of her clothes at the local Petco Store. Potty Training Blues :(

I am trying to get this potty training thing under control. We have tried a couple of things with Simba. The very first thing we tried was litter training. Yes, an actual litter box with litter in it. Am I confused about Simba being a dog? Of course not! I know he’s not a cat, but this is something that I read about on Animal Planet and something that my boyfriend suggested that we try. You can read the article by clicking HERE. This method seemed to work okay after a couple of tries, but then it just ended up being messy with litter trailing on the floor and just way more work than we expected. We have a balcony so we put the litter box out there for less mess and easier clean up, but we still didn’t like the method.

The next method and the method we are currently using is the puppy training pads. At first he just laid on it like it was his dog bed or something. He also tried to play with it like it was a shiny new toy. He finally got the idea and did his business there, but if there is a pad in the house he won’t use it…he will only use it if we take him out to the balcony. So of course when I took him to my sister’s house while we were away at the beach, he did his business on her floor. He wouldn’t use the pad or do his business outside. Oh dear. We also found out that sometimes Simba has been doing his business under the kitchen table at times. We MUST get this potty training under control. He is so much like a toddler! Imagine training your pet and 2 year old at the same time. The horror!

Simba sleeps in so many different ways. This way and that…over here and over there…paws up and paws down…curled up and stretched out. I never knew there were so many ways to sleep! Maybe it’s the equivalent of a child that sleeps pretty wildly? He sleeps in the weirdest ways when he is extremely tired. I think it’s a pretty funny sight to see so I had to share the pictures!

I’ll start off with the more normal sleeping positions. When we first got Simba he loved to lay on us and fall asleep. He still loves sleeping this way. Can you say spoiled!?

I don’t leave daddy out…I sleep on him too! I’m sure daddy will find this photo embarrassing, but mommy thinks it’s too cute of course! Mommy thinks everything I do is cute…well almost.

Simba loves sleeping in his bed or any bed for that matter.

I just love my bed. It’s so comfy!

I also love to curl up on mommy and daddy’s bed. It’s much more comfy than mine if you ask me!

On the couch with my toy. I think I was playing with it and then just went to sleep.

This weekend my family came to visit and boy did I have fun. I played with my cousins and ran everywhere. I fetched balls, I chased balls, I chased family, I played tug o war…I did it all! This is the result of having entirely too much fun! Stretched out on the couch, dog tired!

Drum roll please! Here is the weirdest way that I have ever seen him sleep…laying on his back with all fours up in the air. Oh, Simba. ^_^

I was extremely tired after visiting with family. We took a road trip and when we got home I went straight to my bed! All fours are up. Wow. I look like a weirdo huh?
